NBSC Travel
Our Competitive Travel Program offers boys and girls born between 2010 and 2016 the opportunity to elevate their skills and passion for soccer in an engaging and challenging environment. This program runs on a seasonal calendar starting in the fall through winter and spring, providing a comprehensive soccer experience that fosters growth both on and off the field. Our travel teams compete in the Central District of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association against teams from other towns. Typically away games are within a 30-minute distance from New Britain, but there are exceptions.
Training
Travel coaches are usually certified and/or licensed and have substantial soccer experience. Training sessions typically take place 2-3 times per week for 1.5-2 hours and are more structured, with detailed plans for skill progression, tactical education, and game preparation. Under the direction of the club Director of Coaching, each NBSC travel team emphasizes a unfirom club coaching philosophy focused on developing the whole player and progressing through the age groups in a linear path between small sided 7v7 or 9v9 games in U9-U12, up to full field 11v11 gameplay which takes place at the U13 level and above.
Tryouts
Tryouts are required for travel teams and are typically held at the end of the spring season in May or June. Players are assessed and selected based on a combination of technical skills, tactical understanding, physical attributes, and overall attitude and commitment. Occasionally supplemental tryouts may be held during the winter to fill out teams that need additional players for the spring season.

Tryout registration will be listed below when tryouts are coming up. All players must participate in tryouts in order to register for a travel team, even if they were already on a team the previous year.
